Items, NPCs, monsters and halls
Everything in your world besides its maps is a record in a list: its items, NPCs, monsters and guild halls. Each has an editor in the game and a page in Odyssey Server Admin, and both save to the same place, so a change made in one is in the other.
| What | In the game | In the admin app | Right to save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Items | /god editobject | Items | EditItems |
| NPCs | /god editnpc | NPCs | EditNpcs |
| Monsters | /god editmonster | Monsters | EditMonsters |
| Guild halls | /god edithall | Guild halls | EditHalls |
A world's Editor and Senior Editor roles have all four rights to start with. See staff, roles and rights.
The game's editors open over the game, which carries on around you, and you can have several open at once. Pictures are chosen by looking at them, from the game's own art and your server's together. Any field whose name does not explain itself has a sentence that does: behind the (?) beside it in the game, and under it in the admin app.

Items#
An item has a name, a picture, a description and a Type, which decides what it is: a weapon, armour, a potion, a key, money, ammunition and so on. Each type has values of its own, which the editor names for that type: a weapon's Attack, the Absorbs of a piece of armour, the stat a potion restores.
A change reaches every connected player at once.
Weapons that shoot#
A projectile weapon, such as a bow, fires a shot the way its holder faces. It flies a square at a time for the weapon's range and stops at the first monster, player or wall. Its Speed is how many milliseconds the shot takes to cross a square; 0 means 100.
A shot's look is an effect. A weapon, or its ammunition, can name one effect for every direction, or a different one for each of the four, so an arrow points the way it flies. A direction left at 0 uses the one effect. The editor plays each effect beside its number.
NPCs#
An NPC stands on a map, set in that map's properties. It has a name, what it says when a player arrives and leaves, and lines it says now and then to players on its map.
- Shop: each line is a trade, what the NPC gives and what it wants for it. A shop can have as many lines as you like, and its window scrolls.
- Banker lets players use the bank there.
- Repairs items makes it a repairer, if Repair at NPCs is switched on under Server configuration, Shops, repair and guilds.
Monsters#
A monster has a sprite, its stats, and whether it is a guard, friendly, or out only by day or only by night.
Drops is a list of what it can leave behind, as long as you like. When one dies, one line is picked, more often the heavier its weight; the editor shows each line's chance. A line with no item is the chance of dropping nothing.
A change reaches the next one spawned. Those already out keep what they were given.
Which monsters appear where is set on each map, in its properties.
Guild halls#
A hall has a price, a daily upkeep, and the map and square a guild's members come back to when they die, once the guild owns it.
